Rachel's Baptism

Today one of my nanny girls, Rachel, was baptized. Thomas and I were priveleged to attend this important event in her life. The Savage's were so kind and even invited Thomas to stand in Rachel's confirmation circle. After the baptism, the Savage's hosted a lunch at their home catered by Olive Garden. We had a good time and I'm so proud of Rachey!

Congratulations, Rach!

New Accessories!

Here's what I've been up to lately with my bow "business." I have yet to make my website popular but I'm hoping with my promotion going on and some websites featuring it, site visits will increase. Also, I'll be having a party at my sister's apartment where I'll sell bows and one at my other sister's house (if she'll let me...I haven't asked yet) and then one of my good friends, Amanda Moore, offered to let me host one at her house when I am home for the holidays! So for those of you living in Utah...check for Facebook invites soon and posts here for the parties and those of you in Sacramento area...be prepared for a bow party in December! Anyway, lately, I've been loving making headbands! They are so fun and I love wearing them myself! Here's some of the things I've been making lately:

You can find these and more at my website: marciwallace.etsy.com. And don't forget about my promotion! For any item you purchase now through December 15, your name will be entered into a drawing for a giveaway of a basket of bows/headbands/etc. This means that for every set of bows you purchase, your name will be entered for each item in that set! Good luck and happy shopping! Spread the word!

EXAMS AGAIN!?

It seems like I just BARELY posted about Tom's exams! And here they are again!! He actually just finished his last one on Friday and now no more until finals!...which is coming up really quickly, actually. I never posted how he did on his last ones (because I feel like I didn't even have a chance before these next ones came!) but he did well and was above the average on every exam! Above average is exactly what he needs to be accepted into the Master's program in the fall. We don't know all the scores on his exams from this week yet but he has seen his multiple choice scores and he did great!...so hopefully his written answers were great too! Hard work definitely pays off :]

Oh, the joys of nannying!

Everyone is sick! Or has been in the last few weeks. First Joshua (6) got some bug and I picked him up from school early because he threw up in his kindergarten class. A few days later, Tyler (14) and Ashley's husband, Chad were sick and throwing up. Two days later, I picked up Rachel (8) from school early because she felt sick and she threw up three times. The same day, Dray (dad) caught the bug. The next day, Ashley caught it and was sick for awhile. Yesterday, Lindsay felt sick before I left and informed me today that she threw up EIGHT times last night! YIKES. Being the hypochondriac that I am, I've felt sick each time I learned that someone else was sick. Of course, it has all been in my head and I have yet to catch the bug (hopefully I never will!) I feel like I'm probably doomed after taking care of so many sick children but we'll see! Oh, the joys of nannying! ("Or Mothering!", I'm sure some of you are thinking!)

Smashing Pumpkins

Tom asked me tonight if I thought he should throw his decaying pumpkin over the balcony. I said yes if I could take a picture and he agreed so...

Don't worry...we cleaned up the mess afterward :]

Fall Fun!

This weekend Thomas and I went to a cornmaze with my good friend, Sabrina, and her husband, Brenton. We went to Thanksgiving Point in Lehi and had a really good time despite the rain! There were all kinds of things to do...corn maze, hay ride, pumpkin dodge ball, duck races, pig races (those little guys are FAST!), a blowup dinosaur haunted thing, 3-D Haunted House, pumpkin patch, a firepit where a magician doing tricks, a seek-and-find 3-D village, FOOD!
Here's the fun little duck race...Brenton and Tom are racing:

We took a ride on the short bus!

This rocking chair was HUGE!

A little difference in height? :]

Hay Ride! My very first one!

In the cornmaze:

We made it to the end of the cornmaze!

After all the fun at the corn maze we went back to Sabrina and Brenton's apartment and Sabrina and I made dinner together while the men watched the BYU football game. After dinner, Sabrina and I made BYU mint brownies for dessert...what an experience! As Sabrina was pouring the mint extract in (carefully, I might add) it suddenly all came POURING out and while there was supposed to be like 1/2 tsp of mint there ended up being like 2 TABLESPOONS! Hahah...I'm sure you can imagine how minty it was! That container should have a stopper! The mint mixture tasted a little like toothpaste by itself but once it was mixed with all that chocolate it was okay! :] Also...as I was opening this cocoa can...

...it EXPLODED. Cocoa was EVERYWHERE. See below for confirmation :]

YIKES. I wasn't kidding when I said it was an EXPLOSION. I was a mess!
Thanks for a fun night, Sabrina and Brenton!

CONGRATULATIONS, SIS!

My sister, Laurin, announced her pregnancy today! We are so excited! My sister-in-law, Marissa, is expecting a boy in November and Laurin is expecting on May 1 so I'm so excited for new nieces/nephews! Laurin doesn't know yet what she is having but I'm crossing my fingers for another girl for her!
